Vézénobres is a listed 'Village de Caractère' and 'un des plus beaux villages du Gard'. A 'Village Perché Mediéval', it sits on a hillside overlooking the stunning surrounding countryside on the foothills of the Cevennes. Whilst benefitting from a vast amount of recent restoration work to it's private and public buildings, it still retains the charm and authenticity of it's yesteryears.

It's winding streets and alleyways and it's medieval buildings with their honey coloured stone facades have borne witness to centuries of enchanted passers-by, whilst modern day Vézénobres has all the amenities for 21st C tourist including restaurants, bar/bistro, crêperie, boulangerie, supermarket, post office, pharmacy and beauty salon! 

It is within easy reach of the vast sandy beaches of the Mediterranean, the vineyards of the Côtes du Rhone, the cultural sites of historic significance such as Avignon and the Pont du Gard, and the cosmopolitan towns of Montpellier, Nimes and Uzes. The bustling market town of Alès is 5 minutes drive away and closeby is lively Anduze with its street cafés, the famous mountain steam train 'Train à Vapeur des Cevennes' and the magnificent asian bamboo gardens 'La Bambouseraie de Prafrance'. 

Play golf at outstanding golf courses, walk in the Cévennes and swim in the mountain rivers. Canoeing, rafting and horse-riding are all within easy access. .

It is an ideal pied a terre to absorb the richness of the region and its culinary delights or as a place to relax with the family or on a romantic break. 

The village's heritage as a national site of fig production was established in the Middle Ages and the tradition has recently been restored with the replanting 800 fig trees on the terraces in order to preserve the 100 varieties of fig and the village os host to 2 annual fig festivals which draw thousands of visitors of all nationalities. 

The village also plays host to the World Square Boules Championships during the summer festival and is a great spectacle for those lucky enough to be here during the weekend of the f ête.
